For the use of the system a service contract is necessary, this includes mobile radio, monitoring & alarming and is provided by us, at Eur 29/month (uniform with Europe-wide coverage). In case of non-use monthly switchable to standby (Eur 5/month). Minimum term: 1 month (billing per calendar month). Includes access to monitoring maps service, free iOS and Android app. The web portal is currently only available in English, from Q2/2023 also in German.
The test sole for rent must not be trimmed, otherwise the purchase becomes mandatory (charging the rental period). The test rental already includes an active service contract, so it can be fully tested (preferably in a handbag or backpack) and automatically renews until the sole is returned (by the day at 1/30 of the monthly rate) or transferred to the purchase. If purchased, 50% of the rental price will be credited.

Legal information for relatives

1. how does it relate to the fundamental right of informational self-determination with the GPS tracking?
2. can I only use the product if I am the guardian of the person who is to wear the sole?
More generally, there are "recognized/approved" restrictions on the right to informal self-determination in the care sector, see also this article:
Basically, from our experience with the soles used so far, we can say, that the patient's freedoms were rather extended when using the sole.
For example, in the case of patients who have already "lost their way" into dangerous situations (at night / in the cold / large streets), so that they should actually be transferred to a closed area so that they are constantly under observation. With the use of the sole, this "closed observation" could be replaced with the automatic SMS alarm to caregivers and relatives when the patient moves from his "safe" zone.
In the meantime, there is a whole series of judgments, which ultimately put the sense of the localization in the foreground. If the locating is done in the sense of supervision, to make sure that the person can find his way / can be found if he gets lost, then it can be legitimate to equip someone as a health care proxy, caregiver with the corresponding scope of duties or with the consent of the person himself with a locating option, as long as this does not serve to permanently prevent someone from leaving, for example, the house.
The BIVA Pflegeschutzband has compiled the current rulings: https://www.biva.de/urteile/rechtsprechung-zu-ortu...
In case of doubt, it makes sense to contact the local care court and ask about current practice.
3. can the sole be used throughout Europe or are there exceptions?
From a technical point of view, the sole can be used anywhere in Europe and, after consultation and appropriate adaptation, also worldwide.
